Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead key accounting functions. This is an on-site leadership opportunity for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable, tax compliance, internal audit, and team development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee core accounting operations including:
    • Accounts receivable
    • Sales and use tax compliance
    • Internal store audits
    • Daily cash reporting
    • Account analysis and reconciliations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of up to 8 accounting professionals
  • Support month-end closing activities, journal entries, and financial reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of all sales and use tax returns
  • Manage warranty redemptions, chargebacks, and tax exemption documentation
  • Prepare audit work papers and ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Maintain and improve accounting procedures, controls, and documentation
  • Partner with other departments to support financial operations and audits
  • Participate in periodic weekend physical inventory counts (approx. 4-6 times/year)
  • Develop Excel-based reporting tools using pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Identify and implement process improvements and control enhancements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups)
  • Experience with internal controls, audits, and tax compliance
  • Retail or multi-location experience is a plus
